Artpop Challenge: Donatella

It started as an innocent introduction between a mother and the mother's boyfriend. And by innocent, I mean no smoking, no swearing, no weapons, no armor, no vulgarity, just being a polite and decent Rev Shepard. The next thing he knew he was at the central plaza shopping with Mrs. Alenko, minus one Kaidan.

"Have you ever heard of a woman named Marilyn Monroe, Rev?" She asked walking beside him. People would gather in groups as to seeing the galaxy's savior in broad daylight. "No ma'am." He replied. The lady laughed, "Im not kicking the bucket anytime soon. Please, Lily sounds better." The mother insisted. "As for Marylin, she was a diva of many hats. She once said, 'Give a girl the right pair of shoes, and she'll conquer the world."

Rev chuckled a little as he heard the bravado in the smaller woman's voice, trying to be the diva. "I may not be anywhere close to achieving what you have done, dear. But you've really helped Kaidan. Also, you may not have found those heels, you've conquered far more than anyone in history has." Rev sighed, "Yeah, I can't do so hot in heels." Lily burst laughing, imagining Kaidan tricking the man into wearing high heels.

"I bet you wear only a few pairs of change clothes, don't you?" Lily asked. He did, on that note. But he made sure he washed them when he could. "Yeah.. I don't really like fancy clothing. I never, I mean NEVER have worn the ceremonial alliance suit. Okay maybe just once. It feels like its suffocating me and it itches." Rev explained and saw the woman taking in the information. "Well, dear. The thing is this: the important thing to your wardrobe is not just having stylish or elegance, but to be comfortable. Kaidan told me you've no taste in the world fashion." Rev was defeated in this area. He had no style or grace. It wasn't his strong suit.

"That's why I've made a list." Lily stated holding the data pad. "What is the list off?" He asked confused as he was handed the pad. "Of the stores we're going that I've tailored for you." Hearing this and looking at the list, Rev's eyes nearly bulged out of his head:

Rev knew that this was going to be a real test of patience and endurance. Nine hours later, the Alenko household was flooded with designer shopping bags and constant arrangements of clothes. When he finally got to the bedroom where he and Kaidan were sleeping, Shepard dived head first into the comforter, moaning.

"Yeah, mom likes you." Kaidan stated and Rev laughed muffled in the pillows.
